It really bugs me that Jack can’t understand all languages in Torchwood even though he’s ridden in the TARDIS.
YES! SAME!

Ultimate crossover. Someone must have written this!
Jack: Captain Jack Harkness. And who are you, mysterious time traveller?
River: I’m River Song.
Jack: Gonna tell me anything else about yourself?
River: Can’t. Spoilers.
Jack: Well then, hello River.
River: Hello, CaptainThey need a show all their own.
I’d watch the hell outta that.
“I found my Doctor.”
I love this pained, sardonic smile. He knows none of them remember the Year or know what he went through, and it’s just too morbidly, horribly funny in a twisted way that they ask about the Doctor, “his” Doctor, who told him he was wrong, who took him for granted, who loved a psychopathic, maniacal, homicidal torturer Timelord more than him.
Janto (Torchwood) - OTP: you never will just be a blip in time
“I have absolutely no idea whether you can hear me, Jack. But I’ll talk to you now, on the off-chance that it helps. I’ve watched you in your sleep; did you know that? So many times. Just woken up beside you in the middle of the night and watched you. Watched your eyes moving behind your eyelids as you dreamed. And tried to imagine what a man like you could possibly dream about. The things you’ve seen; the lives you’ve lived; the people you’ve loved. I wondered if you were dreaming about me, I hoped you were dreaming about me. Everyday, I grow a little older. But you’re immortal. You’ve already lived a thousand lifetimes. How could you watch me grow old and die? How can I watch you live and never age a day? Even if by some miracle I survive to see my hair turned grey, or God forbid fall out, I dont kid myself that you’d still be around to see it. Lets be honest, Jack. I’m nothing more than a blip in time for you”I don’t know if you can call them an OTP, though, because of the stuff. But somebody like Ianto will probably not come along for Jack more than a couple times.
They’re my number one OTP. Doesn’t matter if their relationship wasn’t always brillig, or whether they had a happy ending or not, they can still be an OTP (and it’s canon, which is more than you can say for a lot of OTP’s). What I don’t like is seeing posts about how “perfect” their relationship was. Jack and Ianto, as a pairing, were a million lightyears from perfection - they hurt each other, even betrayed each other, and there were doubts on both sides - but that doesn’t mean they didn’t need each other… whether they were willing to admit it or not. It doesn’t mean they weren’t good for each other, even if it didn’t always show on the surface. It doesn’t mean that Ianto wasn’t the most important person in Jack’s life, or vice versa, no matter how many people scoff and doubt that. I would direct them towards both CoE days Four and Five, and House of The Dead. THEN try and tell me they were any less than what they were, bro. Bring it.

This. So much this. These two were desperately important to each other, even if they didn’t always show it. Their relationship was flawed but beautiful. I think they were both a little scared by just how much they loved each other, because neither of them expected it. Jack really ended up saving Ianto and giving him something to live for, and Ianto was such an anchor for Jack. And I think one reason their bond is so strong is because Ianto doesn’t need Jack to be the Big Damn Hero - he just needs him to be Jack. He doesn’t keep him on an impossibly high pedestal. Ianto treated Jack so normally. He knew exactly what he was getting, flaws and all, and didn’t judge him for it or love him any less fiercely. They balanced each other out so well and accepted one another.
But I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Ianto is the closest thing Jack will ever have to “the one”. The fact that he was the only former lover who Jack mentioned at Angelo’s deathbed, something Jack just doesn’t do, proves just how important he was to Jack. House of the Dead goes on to further prove it, since he was the only one Jack wanted to see out of everyone he’s ever lost. And in Day Four, when Jack is willing to throw everything away and surrender to the 456 to keep Ianto? “I take it all back, but not him.”
So yeah. They can definitely be called an OTP. They’re my number one OTP, as well. I think losing Ianto will be the last time for a very long time Jack risks opening up his heart to anyone, since he just seems so broken and miserable without him now.
I have nothing to add to this brilliance except yes.

This is a damned beautiful kiss.
As much as I appreciate the frequent appearance of GIFs of this, watching the video is always better.
The GIFs don’t come with kiss noises.
I try to resist reblogging this, but it’s pointless. Here, have mankisses again.
Captain Jack hotness on Gareth Friday. Ianto would approve.
Well, I definitely approve.
